Christmas

Hello and welcome to the website of Geneva Road Evangelical Baptist Church.

It will soon be Christmas, a time of giving and receiving, a time when we focus on ..., well, what do we focus on?

Christmas Tree
The answer could be many things, but at least one of those things, the most important thing, should be Jesus.

In the busyness of Christmas Jesus gets lost in the crowd – can you see him?

In the Bible, Jesus is described as the “indescribable gift” (2 Corinthians 9:15).

In another Bible verse we see why, “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” (John 3:16)

The gift of Jesus brings the gift of eternal life – knowing God here and now, rescued and forgiven, then in heaven for ever, happy for ever.

A time of giving and receiving? Jesus is God’s greatest gift to us. What a tragedy if we don’t receive this greatest of gifts!
